B. L. Gray is made up of approximately 800 seventh and eighth grade students. Administrative staff includes Principal Ericka Julie Carranza; Assistant Principals Juan Heredia and Maria Chavez; Counselors Orpha Herrera and Emily Pietrzak; Instruction & Assessment Strategist Deborah Bickerton, and Librarian Wenndy Pray.
Our main goal is to achieve and maintain an exemplary academic program. We strive to adhere to our Campus Improvement Plan, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) state standards, and our District Plan in order to accomplish our educational goal. Our teachers implement the state required curriculum according to TEKS through a variety of strategies. Staff development, vertical and horizontal staff planning, Pre-AP courses, Middle School Concept, academic teaming, and offering high school accredited courses support teacher curriculum and instruction.
