Sam Houston State University alumnus and B. L. Gray Librarian Wenndy Pray was exclusively selected by the SHSU Library Science Department as the only Outstanding Student Award recipient for the 2017 Spring semester. The Library Science Department is comprised of professors in the field who select students based on GPA, work ethic and quality, and other attributes.  It was the consensus of the committee to select Mrs. Pray for this award.

“Mrs. Pray demonstrates her leadership, her knowledge, and her skills through her graduate coursework and when working with others.  She stands out as a first-rate student within our program,” said Dr. Holly Weimar, Department Chair.

“I am honored to receive this award,” expresses Mrs. Pray, “I appreciate the guidance and direction my professors have provided. It’s been instrumental in creating a strong foundation to enable me to be a successful graduate student.”

Mrs. Pray completed her graduate studies in August 2017 and graduated with a 4.0 average.
