NJHS Officers

Balbina Martinez Palacios, NJHS President
NJHS is crucial for BL Gray Junior High, for we help our environment and surroundings not because we have to, but because we truly want to. In today’s reality, it’s heartbreaking to see how people harm our environment. For example, deforestation and littering are deteriorating our planet, and it’s our job to take a step in the right direction and give it our all to make a difference. This is why two of my goals this year as an NJHS officer are to lead others on the right path, and to show that one themselves can make a remarkable difference. I hope to achieve my goals by making sure I enforce the 5 pillars so that others will copy and do the same, and by reminding everyone that their opinion matters by listening to what they have to say.

Gerardo Sagahon, NJHS Vice President
My name is Gerardo Sagahon, and I am vice-president of NJHS, or National Junior Honor Society. I believe NJHS is important to our school and community because here, we are all about giving back to the community and helping. Our school and community have done so much to help us, so we give back all the care and support that we received.
As Vice President and Officer of our National Junior Honor Society, I aspire and aim to do two main goals this year. My first goal for 2019-2020 is to help as many groups of people as possible. There are a lot of people out there that need help, and I would like to help as many lives and people as possible. I also want to make sure to get as many members as possible to contribute to our society and our services.
I believe that if we can raise awareness about upcoming projects and encourage our peers, we will be able to convince the majority if not all of them to help on out activities.

Andres Cavazos, Treasurer
N.J.H.S. is important to this school because the society does so much for the school. For example, N. J. H. S. runs a variety of fundraisers in order to improve the lives of the students and faculty. N. J. H. S. also serves the community with many different service projects. As an officer, my goals are to learn more about the organization, benefit the environment, and help the community as much as I can. I hope to achieve my goals by participating in the many service projects N.J.H.S. offers.

Cecilia Cavazos, Historian

Estefania Rico-Arambula, Parliamentarian
Being part of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is an honor and a pleasure to be accepted in a wonderful organization like this and to have the opportunity to interact with your community and stand out from any ordinary kid. This unique organization is crucial and important for B. L. Gray Junior High because as members of this society, we help out our school events and sponsor many activities and fundraisers in order to have a successful school year. We all unite as one family and share our ideas, for the community around us to know who we are and how we can create our surroundings a much more united society. As the NJHS Parliamentarian, I am planning on becoming a better role model for the school and set a good example for all my classmates and scholars around me. Not only do I want to make things right, I want everyone to join me and help out our community; without our help and everyone’s support, none of this would be possible. I want to join forces with everyone and create huge impacts that can change our surroundings with the choices we make; anything is possible if we set ourselves to make it possible, because nothing is impossible.
